TIMESPASURUAN, PONOROGO – Satay has become a very popular dishes in Indonesia. Yet, each corner the country has their very own way of cooking stay along with the sauce. Yet, Ponorogo, East Java has a very delicious way of serving salty with peanut sauce such as what Satay Mbah Jambul has.

Mbah Jambul is a satay shop which located in Jalan Trunojoyo Ponorogo. This shop now run by Suwardi, the 4th descendants of Mbah Jambul.

"This shop was built on 1950's and from that time, we never move to another location and the same recipe from time to time," Suwardi said on Thursday (21/5/2020).

Still according to him, back then, a satay will open in the evening before dinner time. But Satay Mbah Jambul were the only shop who break the rule by opening their shop earlier at 11.00 a.m to 14.00 p.m local western time.

Suwardi also said, that he could spend around 500 skewers of satay in a day. Not including a holiday such as Christmas or Eid Al-Fithr.

"Skills never lie, the taste is so authentic. We could feel the Ponorogo (East Java) satay melting in our mouth in Satay Mbah Jambul shop," Sumarno, from Central Java said. (*)
